The Scone Literary Festival 2025 has something for all ages!

Dive into the world of imagination and creativity with an inspiring lineup of workshops and panels designed to spark ideas and ignite storytelling passions! The Primary Writer’s Workshop.

Join the Primary School Writer’s Workshop (Years 4-6) “Breathtaking Beginnings and Perilous Plots,” a hands-on session exploring the essentials of storytelling.

Young writers will learn to:

  • Generate imaginative story ideas
  • Craft breathtaking openings
  • Create compelling characters
  • Develop perilous plots
  • Revise for a polished finish

Facilitated by Fantasy enthusiast and well acclaimed novelist Jo Riccioni.

We are looking for keen writers - talk to your teachers about getting in touch with the Festival and being part of our workshops.
