The 2022 Program is our most diverse yet with new events in Murrurundi and Merriwa and big topics to get your mind ticking over!
Our theme is Storylines and we’ll be taking a First Nations look at the Constitution, amongst others. Other topics we’re tackling include the environment – crimes against nature; trauma and tragedy; power and consent , the meaning of beauty in the 21C, plus the impact of the pandemic and much more.
The three-day event also includes a day focused on children with events for kids of all ages and stages. Pre-schoolers are entertained by a children’s author and illustrator, primary school kids from around the Upper Hunter LGA participate in a creative writing workshop, and high schoolers embark on contemporary and fun short film making workshop with emerging writer, director and producer, former local, Hattie Archibald.
The Farmer’s Short Story Competition is happening again in 2022! This year we’ve opened it up to all primary producers in the Upper Hunter State Electorate AND doubled the first prize!
