Scone Literary Festival

2023 Scone Literary Festival

March 10-12, 2023

Our 2023 theme is Storylines, a narrative that underpins every story, however small, however personal, however big, however, political, however global.  A storyline, a narrative, is behind every literary work, and we’re exploring just this translates at the festival. We’re tackling big topics, of course, and they include crimes against nature; trauma and tragedy; power and consent, living in a post-pandemic world and the changing dynamics of politics. Our popular Bush Poet’s Breakfast will return with a difference as will the Merriwa Literary Lunch.

The three-day event also includes FREE community events – children of all ages and stages, senior citizens and workshops.

“I hope you are enjoying a well-deserved rest. It was a warm and wonderful festival. The panels were totally engaging with controversial, intellectual and creative discussions. I really enjoyed speaking on the youth literature panel. The organisation was smooth and seamless. I loved special moments like damper with the bush poets. Speaking at the Scone library was a great joy engaging our future readers and attendees at the Scone Literary Festival. Congratulations.``
