Known as the ‘Horse Capital of Australia’, Scone is halfway between Newcastle and Tamworth on the New England Highway.
The rural town is surrounded by world class thoroughbred horse studs and is rich in agricultural and equine activity. Scone is a great base for the local driving tours and has a town walk to discover many points of interest. Pick up a town walks brochure at the Visitor Information Centre.
Scone is surrounded by lush bushland including world heritage State and National parks and it is the ‘Gateway to the Barrington Tops’.
